Chen Jiong, disillusioned by his parents' separation, fears love and marriage, helping others but unable to resolve his own issues. Jiang Xiao Xi, a talented pianist from a good family, loses confidence after a competition mistake and gives up on her dreams. Both experience breakups: Chen Jiong with Xiao Yu over commitment issues, and Jiang Xiao Xi with Wang Cong after his infidelity. Their separate struggles eventually bring them together.
