In the 1930s, Ouyang Tian Qing and other young women from Sanshui, Guangdong, arrived in Singapore to work on construction sites, wearing red headscarves and known as "Red Scarf." Bai Wei, who came to work as a tutor for the Lu family, met the handsome Lu Xueting, the third young master of the family, on the same boat. Tian Qing's sister, He Xiao Chan, came to escape an arranged marriage.
After disembarking, Xiao Chan was blackmailed by gangster Kuang Haisheng but was helped by Bai Wei. The three girls formed a bond, and Kuang found love.
