Gojo Wakana is a high school boy fascinated by hina dolls and in training to become a "kashirashi", a craftsman who makes the dolls’ faces. He is wholeheartedly absorbed in making his favorite dolls, but his interests do not match those of people his age, so he is unable to fit in with his peers.
One day, a popular gal in his class, Kitagawa Marin, notices his dexterous talent and asks him to make cosplay costumes as an extension of making costumes for hina dolls. Wakana is confused but moved by Marin's enthusiasm, so he decides to start making costumes. Marin loves anime, games and manga and enjoys cosplaying with all her might, following what she loves.
Influenced by Marin's unapologetic passion, Wakana begins to break out of his shell little by little. The distance between the two, who are complete opposites in both body and mind, gradually narrows through making costumes…
