In the 1940s, two families— the noble yet poor Mahasak family and the newly wealthy Wongwiboon family—are at odds. Wanida, the beautiful and strong-willed daughter of a loan shark, Dao, crosses paths with Mejar Prajak Mahasak, a kind-hearted man from the Mahasak family. Initially disliking each other, their fate takes a turn when Prajak's brother Lek borrows money from Dao but fails to repay it. Dao demands Lek's marriage to Wanida as payment, but Lek flees, leaving Prajak to marry her instead. Their chaotic marriage unfolds from there.
